We had an outing with the rest of the temple missionaries today guided by Pedro Carrera, a worker from the afternoon shift we met when we first arrived. He speaks English but I spent as much time translating today as I do when our guide is speaking Spanish. Some of the others couldn’t seem to understand him.
We took a different route than the other missionaries because theirs included using the red line of the metro. It doesn’t have elevators so we took a bus from Francisco Bilbao to the green line metro and then took the metro to the end of the line. What an amazing thing, we all arrived at the Quinta Normal stop of the metro at the same time. However, the way they went, they had to walk 12 blocks.
We met Hermano Carrera there at the metro stop and he took us into a large park which includes a railroad museum. It is closed on Mondays but he helps there and knows the president so they allowed us in to look around. It was very informative and we took lots of pictures.
The two of the pictures show a giant Chilean palm, native of Chile and some wild parrots, not native to Chile.
