Nature Poem

I'd like to write a serious poem
About our beauteous nature,
Perhaps about the thick sea foam,
Or some amphibious creature;
Tall pine trees that clutter the ground
With fruits of their productions;
Or little squirrels that scurry 'round
Chattering out instructions.

I'd like to write about the stream
That nestles in its bed,
Where little children come to dream
The fantasies in their heads,
Of lush green meadows, devoid of strife
According protective cover
To animal homes chuck full of life
Of one species or another.
Of jagged mountains edging the sky
Plotting graph horizons,
Of the mighty eagle circling high
Above the grazing bison.

I'd like to write about the sea,
Or desert, or the jungles.
I'd like to write the melody
Of the water falls that rumble.
Poems of nature do not flow
From me. I shouldn't bother,
For they were written long ago
By our Eternal Father.
